Production Operative

Based in the heart of South Wales, OP Chocolate Ltd has been baking quality wafers for over 75 years. Our aim is to delight our customers by consistently delivering high quality products. We bake a range of moulded wafers and biscuits and produce chocolate bars, wafer products, toffee and mallow in our factory.

We have Full Time rotational shifts and Part Time Non rotational shift vacancies for Production Operatives; you will typically be involved in:

  • Working in various areas on the line, as part of a team.
  • Packing finished products as required.
  • Ensuring standards of quality are maintained by checking products meet specific requirements.
  • Maintaining and cleaning work areas.

The successful candidate will need to:

  • Be able to work as part of a team.
  • Have good standards of literacy.
  • Be flexible with their approach to working hours.
  • Follow written and spoken instructions, and production schedules
  • Pay attention to detail even where tasks maybe repetitive.
  • Adhere to health and safety at all times.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment, while standing for the duration of your shift.

We have a variety of shifts available including:

Day Shift (Non rotational)

Monday – Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm

Rotating weekly shifts

Monday – Thursday 8 am -3 pm and 3 pm – 10 pm. Friday 8 am – 2.15 pm and 2 pm – 8.30 pm.

Permanent Night shifts

Sunday 10.45pm to 6.00am and Monday to Thursday 22.00pm to 6.00am
Sunday – Thursday 10pm – 6.00am or Monday – Thursday 10pm – 8.00am

Part time Shifts (Non rotational)

8.00am – 12.30 or 12.30 – 5.00pm or 5.00pm – 10.00pm

Having previously working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment would be advantageous but is not essential. Successful candidates will be required to obtain a Food Safety Level 2 certificate which is provided by the Company.
