The Role:

The machine operator role is to competently and safely operate all wrapping machines in the enrober, mallow and moulding machine. The role at grade 2 requires expert knowledge of fault finding and problem solving in either the single wrap or multi wrap machines.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Must safely and competently operate wrapping machines across enrober, mallow and moulding departments.
  • This role requires expert knowledge of either single wrap or multi wrap machines, with the ability to fault find and train others.
  • Performing all aspects of the role to the required standard (detailed below), in line with the written procedures identified in the training and assessment records.
    • Accurately and legibly complete documentation associated with this role.
    • Attend and be receptive to any training required for this role
    • Carry out basic maintenance (change cello, clear jams or blockages etc)
    • Routinely monitor the quality of the product exiting the machines
    • Diagnose and resolve operating problems as and when necessary
    • Set up and alter position of code on bagging machine
    • Adjust tracking of cello
    • Operate and understand the main control panel
    • Clear blockages on weighing head
    • Understand the presentation of product to the machine
    • Calculate the machine running speed

*Machine operators must be competent in the Shop floor operator duties and responsibilities (JD01)and carry them out as required.

*Because of the changing nature of our business your job description will inevitably change. You will, from time to time, be required to vary from regular shift patterns and undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within your capabilities as directed by management.
