Hours: 8.00am-3.00pm / 3.00pm-10.00pm

Salary: Grade 2+ (3/4 depending on experience)

Job Background

The Process Operator is responsible to operate the designated production department according to plan, and at the optimum efficiency, whilst ensuring specified standards of food safety, quality and legality and H&S are kept.

Role Summary

  • Read the Production plan and ensure planned sequence is followed.
  • Set up and run the department.
  • Diagnose and resolve operating problems as and when necessary.
  • Read and understand internal specifications, and communicate to the department ensuring that the products are manufactured to internal specification at all times.
  • Be responsible of the quality, safety and legality of all products leaving the department.
  • Control labour to ensure the numbers and skills are correct for the department, and for the product being manufactured.
  • Monitor time-keeping and attendance of employees and assist Production Manager with disciplinary if necessary.
  • Provide cover for other Process Operators if needed.
  • Monitor and control waste level of the department.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of manufacturing production and processes.
  • Good communication to manager, peers and operators.
